Children from Clearwater Primary Academy sit with their Easter collagePupils in Reception at Clearwater Primary Academy have produced a bright and beautiful collage for Easter.

The collage will hang in Saint James’ Church at Quedgeley throughout the Easter period. It took several weeks to complete, during which time the children chose the colours and the design before setting to work on the finished piece.

Based on the crucifixion, the collage shows a cross on a hill surrounded by sheep and flowers.

Reception teachers, Maddison O’Beirne and Katy Adamson, helped the children put the collage together.

Maddison says: ‘The Reception children are really enjoying learning about how Christians celebrate Easter. Creating this collage together has really helped to bring the story of Easter to life for them and they can’t wait to see their art in the church very soon.’

The Revd Mark Siddall, Priest in Charge of Saint James’ Quedgeley & Kingsway, comments: ‘What a lovely collage of new life and hope for Easter that the Clearwater pupils have made. Images like this really show us the hope and new life in a new generation of children – new life and hope from new life in our children, what a great Easter message!’
