Baptism & Confirmation

In Baptism, parents thank God for His gift of life and make a decision to start the child on the journey of faith and ask for the Church’s support.

Confirmation is the moment you stand before God, your church family and a bishop, and make the promises of baptism your own. Whatever your age and wherever you are on the journey, this is a step towards life in all its fullness — and the church across Gloucestershire would love to help you take it.

The Church of England conducts over 2,500 christenings every week of the year. Everyone is welcome to have their baby or child baptized at a Christening in their parish church and it remains a popular decision for parents.
