New halo installation at All Saints TurkdeanAll Saints Church, Turkdean installed two high-tech infrared heating chandeliers last week, and they are holding a Choral Evensong at 6.30pm on Sunday 17 November to celebrate the achievement.

Vivien Burford, All Saints Churchwarden, said: “I am now both delighted and somewhat astonished to be able to announce that after launching this fundraising campaign in June, we raised sufficient funds by September to acquire and install two new hi-tec infra-red heating chandeliers. These were mounted last week, in good time for the inevitable plunge in the mercury that will soon be upon us.”

The infrared chandeliers use modern technology to warm people and objects directly, rather than heating the surrounding air, which creates a worship space with minimal energy waste. This system is not only kinder to the environment, but it also ensures that All Saints can offer a warm welcome to all through the winter. The DAC advised the church on the best solutions are is happy with the solution.

It is one of the spotlights in our Diocesan Life Together vision, as well as being named as one of the Anglican five marks of mission.
