Celebrations at the opening of Rachel House

A women’s dormitory at the Bible College in our partner diocese of Western Tanganyika in Tanzania, has been officially opened by Bishop Saddock.

This is the first accommodation for women students at the theological college, and will enable  women to train as evangelists for the first time.

The block was built with donations from the Episcopal Collections in 2017 and it has been named Rachel House, after Bishop Rachel.

A spokesman for DWT said, “It was such a great and happy day at the college. Many thanks to the team at the Diocese of Gloucester. It is a big honour to be able to name the accommodation after Bishop Rachel and it will be in our hearts today and ever.”
