Food Assistance

People need help to obtain food for a variety of reasons. For some people problems follows a change in personal circumstance, an illness or then become unable to look after themselves. Other people simply don’t have money to buy food.

There are many responses to the growing need for food assistance including; drop in centres providing lunches and serving drinks, breakfast clubs and Food Banks.

Food Banks are setup in partnership with churches and communities, providing 3-day emergency food packages in exchange for food vouchers. They are friendly places offering support and understanding, and at some a cup of tea or free hot meal.  Details of where to obtain the food vouchers are provided on the websites below.
