Vulnerable Adults

Vulnerable adults, and adults at risk are those who are experiencing, or at risk of abuse or neglect.  They have care and support needs which will keep them safe from abuse or neglect.  It is an important part of what many public services, voluntary organisations, and churches do, and a key responsibility of local authorities.

2gether NHS Foundation Trust  Mental health and learning disability services offered in the community and within inpatient units. The trust works with many partner organisations and also has a very successful volunteer program.

Age UK  Dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life, providing services and support at a national and local level to inspire, enable older people.

Carers Gloucestershire  Supporting unpaid carers not only with their physical and emotional well-being, but to help them to make informed decisions that have a positive, lasting influence on their lives.

Christians on Ageing  – official name Christian Council on Ageing – is a voluntary, national, ecumenical member-based organization.  It is a resource to the Churches and to other bodies and individuals concerned with the needs, especially the spiritual needs, of all older people.

Community Connexions provides home to school, day centre, hospital and community transport together with community bus routes across the county for groups and individuals, helping less mobile people retain their independence and freedom.

GARAS  (Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers) Support those seeking asylum; advocating for them and helping them adjust if they are recognised as refugees. They also help those who face being sent back.

Glo-Active runs throughout Gloucestershire providing diverse, affordable activities and opportunities for individuals with and without disabilities / special needs. We are passionate about ensuring that all projects are inclusive and delivered informally in order support all. Glo-active is made up of a team of experienced, dedicated and diverse facilitators who are driven by the happiness and commitment we see from our ever extending Glo-active Family.

Kingfisher Treasure Seekers is an organisation set up to enhance the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable adults and teens, including adults with learning difficulties and disabilities and marginalised and struggling individuals.

Mental Health Access Pack  From Mind and Soul who educate, encourage and enable the church on mental health issues and Livability who work with disabled and disadvantaged people and communities. Together they created a website in response to church leaders and those who attend church, who told them they needed help and support with mental health issues.  A  Christian-based resource which presents the facts on key mental health issues – all in one place. The site also points you to other trusted organisations, including Christian charities working in this field.

The Silver Line is the only national charity that operates a FREE confidential helpline 24 hours a day 365 days a year and also delivers one to one services in support of older people in the UK who may be experiencing challenges due to the impact of loneliness or social isolation.
