Biker service at St Arilda’s Oldbury on Severn Sunday 17th March 2019

On Sunday 17th March at 11am, bikers will be gathering for a service at St Arilda’s Church in Oldbury-on-Severn, BS35 1QG. Reverend Jan van der Lely has kindly offered her church to host this service. It will be a time of encouragement, of blessing and mirth, including an opportunity to pick up a Biker Bible and to have your helmets, bike and gloves blessed.

The service will be led by Alexandra and Stewart Dyer, who both happen to ride motorbikes. Alexandra (a Reader at St James’, Tredworth in Gloucester) along with her husband Stewart, have been members of the Gloucester Branch of the Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA) for 4 years. Alexandra said,

“being a biker means you are part of a really special community. When you park up somewhere, you have conversations with people that you don’t know – the only thing we have in common is that we are both bikers. Being part of the CMA is a way of working out my faith, serving God in the community, reaching out and showing God’s love to people that have never encountered it.”

Everyone is welcome , motorbike or not! Plenty of parking is available at The Anchor Inn, just a short walk from the Church. Here you can find us for a  post service drink and a chat in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
