Fit for Function 2: Communities, Briefs and Bids at Leominster Priory, Herefordshire on 2nd October 2018

This ecumenical event is being delivered in partnership between the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham and the Anglican Dioceses of Hereford, Lichfield and Worcester.

Open to anyone who works, supports or volunteers at a place of worship, the day will be full of useful presentations, networking opportunities and breakout sessions; offering a range of perspectives on engaging with the wider community, working with different professionals and accessing funding.

Bishop John Inge, Bishop of Worcester and lead Bishop for Cathedrals and Churches will be the keynote speaker.

Breakout sessions will be led by a number of experts, including:

  • Naomi Fisher from Apec Architects, who will talk through the best ways to work with professionals, in order to save you time and money;
  • Community Consultation expert Keely Tattersfield, who will explain where to start with local engagement, including how to get people involved in your project and collect data to evidence ‘need’; and
  • Kevin Thomas from Ecclesiastical Insurance, will give practical advice on health and safety.

There will also be sessions focused on funding opportunities, ‘dos and don’ts’ and practical ways to engage people when delivering a capital project. A parish group will also share how they successfully used community consultation to access funding and increase capacity within their parish. This event is being delivered in partnership between the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham and the Anglican Dioceses’ of Hereford, Lichfield and Worcester.
