The surprising story of Christian theology and extra-terrestrial life

Tuesday 22 October 2024, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
£10

This lecture explores the intersection of astrobiology and theology, led by Regius Professor of Divinity at Oxford University, Andrew Davison. Andrew is a theologian who has received NASA funding to explore the theological implications of extra-terrestrial life. He has published many books, including Astrobiology and Christian Doctrine (2023).

In this lecture, he will give a tour of the science around the planets and potential life outside Earth. He will discuss the long history of Christian writing regarding the existence of life in the universe, and he will discuss some of the ways in which thinking about astrobiology can gives us some fresh angles on ancient Christian themes.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for young people, and can be booked online here.
