The right reverend Dr K Senam Raj has been selected as Bishop of the Diocese of Dornakal, India and was installed on 2 August.
This follows the retirement of Bishop Padma Rao in June 2026.
We wish both Bishop Senam Raj and his wife Vijaya well in their new role and also a very happy retirement to Bishop Padma Rao and his wife, Vijaya. Vijaya retires from her role as Principal in the Dornakal Diocesan English Medium School. +Padma Rao and his wife Vijaya are going to live in Dornakal and are moving in to a house build on his father’s land.
Bishop Senam Raj was born on 29 July 1964. He has three sons and one grandchild.
He was ordained in 1989 and has served in many churches in the Diocese of Dornakal. He has also been involved in secondary and higher education throughout the Diocese including being the Principal of the Diocesan Junior College (Sixth Form) and the Principal of the Bishop Azariah Degree College. He has worked as the Business Manager of the Bishop White Head Hospital in Khammam. He has also served on Synod of the Church of South India. He has been honoured by the Goverment of Telangana State for his work as the minister of St Mary’s Church In Khammam and his work within the local community.
+Senam Raj’s vision includes spiritual renewal, pastoral care, the empowerment of the youth, the strength of women’s and family ministry, education especially of the poor and marginalised, including Dalits, tribal communities and the disabled.
