A celebration of lay ministry
Whether you’re a children’s minister, a foundation governor, a chaplain or serve as a welcomer, a pastoral assistant or a musician, all lay people and the ordained people that support them are invited to this joyful gathering.
At Gloucester Cathedral on 19 September, people from across the diocese will gather to celebrate the vital role that lay ministry has in caring, teaching and connecting across our communities.
From 1.15pm stalls in the cloisters will be open for everyone to explore the range of exciting and inspiring lay ministries taking place locally. Meet people with similar interests and think about encouraging vocation in your worshipping community.
At 3pm we will gather for a special lay-led service to recognise, affirm, celebrate and encourage lay ministry will take place in the Cathedral. Bishop Rachel will host the event and will join in prayer for all the ways that people are living out the Life Together vision.
During this service there will be space for the Admission and Licensing of Readers.
We’d love to see you there – no need to book, just come along, alone or with friends and family from your worshipping community.
