Young people across the Diocese of Gloucester are sharing what faith means to them through a new TikTok channel, Faith in Glos.
The channel gives young people a chance to talk about faith in their own words, sharing their experiences, questions and stories with others.
In a series of short videos, they explore topics ranging from ‘how do you pray?’ to bigger questions about faith, science, and everyday life. Some share how faith helps them through challenges. Other reflect on what church, prayer or community means to them.
Faith in Glos isn’t about young people giving the ‘right answer’, it’s about creating space for young people to speak honestly about their faith and be heard.
23-year-old Joshua Robertson, Children and Youth Minister at St Mary’s Newent, said:
“I really enjoyed taking part in the TikTok videos and encouraging our young adults group to join in and share their faith stories, testimonies and answer questions.
“I think hearing and sharing from other young adults in these online spaces has real power and has the opportunity to share Jesus in a space which we often cloud with negativity. It’s great to be able to do this in a fun and safe way.”
Sam Cavender, Senior Digital Communications Officer, said:
“We have really enjoyed going around the diocese, filming and speaking to young people. It has been great to meet such a mix of young people and to witness the effervescence of faith in their lives.
“There is no agenda to the project. It’s simply about showing faith as it is lived and experienced by young people.”
