Become a Sportily Movement Maker

Sportily is continuing to grow its programme of sport and physical activity sessions across Gloucestershire, creating welcoming spaces where people of all ages can get active, make friends and explore the Christian faith together.

Recent feedback from participants highlights just how much these sessions mean to local families. One child described a wellbeing activity day as “the best day of my life,” while a parent shared how their son woke up saying he wished “there was sports again tomorrow.” Comments like these, Sportily says, reflect the sense of belonging and joy many people find in the groups.

To help sustain the growing demand, the organisation has launched an effort to recruit 400 “Movement Makers” — one for each of the monthly sessions currently running. Supporters are invited to contribute £10 per month, which helps ensure the activities can continue week after week.

The sessions supported by Movement Makers range widely: energetic toddler groups, youth sports clubs, and fitness, Pilates and wellbeing classes for adults. Across them all, the focus remains the same — having fun, keeping active and building a community where people feel at home.

Those who sign up receive a Sportily Movement Maker ball, a certificate and regular updates sharing the difference their support is making.

Kelsey Martyn, Sport and Faith Leader, said the initiative helps keep opportunities open for people right across the county. “By becoming a Movement Maker, you can help make sure there is sports again tomorrow,” she said, adding that the sessions also offer an invitation to explore faith and experience life “in all its fullness.”

Sportily is now encouraging more local people to get involved and support the programme. Details on how to sign up are available online.
