It was wonderful to be collated, installed and welcomed as Archdeacon in such a beautiful service on Sunday.
Our Cathedral was stunning in the sunshine, and the choir and liturgy of Evensong were full of the goodness and joy of God. We had two wonderful Bible passages from Isaiah and 2 Corinthians that spoke of God’s promises to us and our invitation to respond in our lives. Thank you to all who were there, who sent good wishes and to all who made it such a special occasion.
I am delighted to be beginning this role as Archdeacon of Cheltenham, as I seek to work with you across the Archdeaconry and with colleagues across the diocese as we live our Life Together – serving God and one another.
A brief biography of me – I was born in Ayrshire, have lived in Milton Keynes, Cambridge and Liverpool and was ordained in Coventry in 2000. I am married to Nick, and we have two teenage children, Ruth and Freddie. Since ordination, I have worked in urban and estate ministry in Coventry and since 2015, in this diocese in rural North Cotswolds. My calling to ministry came from a sense and desire to share God’s love with all – and I love to see this lived out in our communities, schools, parishes and wherever we are Church.
I hope, as Archdeacon, to support and share in ministry with you and I look forward to getting out around the Deaneries and meeting many of you.
