The Ven Katrina Scott in her seat in the CathedralThe collation, installation, and welcome service for the new Archdeacon of Cheltenham, the Revd Canon Katrina Scott, took place on Sunday (30 March) from 3pm to 5pm at Gloucester Cathedral.

This was a special service to welcome and pray for Katrina as she begins this new chapter of ministry.

Katrina has served in the Diocese of Gloucester since 2015, most recently as Area Dean of North Cotswold and Rector of the Benefice of the Guitings, Cutsdean, Farmcote, Upper and Lower Slaughter with Eyford and Naunton. She is married to Nick, a Prison Chaplain, and they have two children.

Reflecting on her appointment, Katrina said: “I have loved being a part of the life of this Diocese over the last 10 years and am excited about the future that lies ahead of us. My vocation has always been rooted in a desire to share the love of God with all, and as the Archdeacon of Cheltenham I will seek to support our diverse worshipping communities in our towns and villages in living out God’s transforming good news.”

Bishop Rachel said: “She will bring valuable gifts and experience to this role rooted in prayer and faith in Jesus Christ as we continue to live out our Life Together vision across our worshipping communities. With Bishop Robert, Archdeacon Hilary and all members of the senior leadership team, I am greatly looking forward to working alongside her in a new role.”
