Cate Williams, Environmental Engagement Officer, shares some simple ways to care for Creation in 2024.

Have you made ‘green’ New Year resolutions this year? There are so many things that could be done, it can be hard to know where to start. But just with any other New Year resolution, the trick is to pick one thing as a starting point, rather than trying to do everything at once. It is always surprising how much things can add up over time, when we look back over occasional small changes.

Some of you might like to sign up for the national CofE Environment newsletter, as a source of ideas. It also helps with staying positive and hope-filled as we realise that the small things we are doing locally are part of a national movement, to care for God’s Creation. Of course, Eco Church is another key starting place. We regularly tell stories in our publications about what people are doing in the churches around the diocese as part of their commitment to Eco Church. A huge thank you to all of you who are already engaging with this. Do check out our Eco Church in an Hour hub on the website, if you’d like to know more: gloucester.anglican.org/living-faith/environment/eco-church-in-an-hour
