COP in, not COP out!

Published: Thursday November 4, 2021

Do you care about our world, our nature and our future? You are invited to join us at Gloucester Cathedral this Saturday as part of the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice.

We are hosting a ‘COP26 Gloucester Gathering’ this Saturday 6 November. Anyone who cares about the planet is invited to gather at 3pm outside the Cathedral.  You can come on your own, with your family and friends, or you can be there to represent an organisation, school, business, or community group.

The Global Day of Action for Climate Justice is a series of events locally, nationally, and internationally, drawing attention to the issues being discussed at COP26. By gathering we are showing support for the need for serious and far-reaching commitments for the sake of our planet.

We will hear from a range of people about why tackling the climate crisis is so important and there will be lots of opportunity for creatively expressing how you feel and what you hope for, supported by local organisation ‘Art Shape’.

A group of cyclists on their bikes will attend to raise awareness about cycling as a low carbon solution. Another group will walk through the city before the gathering to raise awareness of the climate crisis before all meet at the Cathedral. If you would like to join in, you can meet the cyclists at Costa Coffee, St Oswald’s at 1.30pm, or the walkers at Shire Hall, also at 1.30pm.
