Thy Kingdom Come: celebrate, worship and pray together for our city
Gloucester Cathedral, in partnership with the Christian Leaders’ Network, invites you to celebrate, worship and pray together for Gloucester.
They are calling Christians across the city from all backgrounds and traditions to come to celebrate and pray together.
Walk from your church (if not too far) or a Gloucester church you feel connected to, and pray for Gloucester as you come.
Come early for a families and children workshop from 10.30am, to make your own Thy Kingdom Come prayer pennants and banners.
Hot and cold drinks will be available for all from 10.30 (come later and you may miss them!)
11.30am: Worship and prayer
12.30pm: Short Eucharist if you’d like to join in.
There will be a picnic (BYO) – plus an ice cream van.

A message from Dean Andrew:
“Dear Friends in Christ,
“In the days between Ascension Day and Pentecost, we are powerfully reminded of the fire of God’s love that is poured into our hearts to fulfil the special calling that he has given to each and every one of us. With this in mind, we are delighted to invite Christian communities from across the city of Gloucester to join in a prayer walk from your churches to the Cathedral for worship and prayer together at 11.30am. We hope that this shared time of prayer together will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and give thanks for the prayer-walking initiative which was launched during this year’s Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and, in preparation for the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, to pray for our city and to discern where God may be calling us to make His Kingdom come.
“I very much hope that you will be able to join in this act of witness and to pray for the coming of the Spirit upon all in our city.
“With grateful thanks and prayers for our partnership in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
