Run the Race Retreat
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2
How do we run the race with endurance, not falling into trying, but rather training?
What would it mean to make choices that allow us to flourish, rest, be more creative, and joyful?
As I have listened to felt needs around the Diocese, how we are to manage our time, make good choices about what to do and, probably more importantly, what not to do, has come up all over the place. Run the race seeks to offer support into that.
This is not so much a training day, more led retreat.
In it there will be time to discern priorities, get things in the diary that give us life [yes, really, bring your diary – let’s do this!], be realistic about what needs to go, find space for that thing you’ve wanted to do for ages… above all, to be reminded by God that you are beloved, and don’t need to do anything to earn God’s love.
