Anglican priest from Ramallah to visit Cheltenham and London for worship, dialogue, and peace-building
Sunday February 8, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Free
From 29 January to 9 February, Pip and Jim’s Church, Cheltenham will welcome Fr Fadi Diab, a prominent Palestinian Anglican priest from Ramallah in the West Bank, for a ten-day visit focused on faith, justice, and peace in the Holy Land.
Fr Fadi is Rector of St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Ramallah, and an internationally recognised advocate for Palestinian Christians and nonviolent, justice-led approaches to peace. His visit builds on the historic relationship between Anglican churches in the UK and the Diocese of Jerusalem, and on Pip & Jim’s Church’s longstanding connection with Ramallah.
During his visit, Fr Fadi will take part in a number of key events, including:
-
Friday 30 January – Evening Forum at Pip & Jim’s Church, Cheltenham
-
Saturday 31 January – Candlemas Service at Pip & Jim’s Church with Bishop Rachel Treweek, including an interview with Fr Fadi, followed by refreshments
-
Monday 2 February – Forum at the House of Lords with Bishop Rachel Treweek
-
Friday 6 February – Interfaith Peace Feast, bringing together Jewish, Muslim, and Christian friends
-
Sunday 8 February – Fr Fadi preaching and presiding at Sunday worship at Pip & Jim’s Church, followed by a parish lunch
Alongside his parish ministry, Fr Fadi is a leader in several international peace initiatives, including Kairos Palestine, and regularly visits the UK and USA to speak with churches, universities, and policymakers about the lived realities of Palestinian Christians and the urgent call to peace with justice.
A spokesperson for Pip & Jim’s Church said:
“This visit is about listening — listening to a Christian voice from Ramallah, sharing hospitality, and renewing our commitment to peace, justice, and reconciliation.”
