Thy Kingdom Come 2026

Published: Tuesday April 14, 2026

Every year, in the 11 days between Ascension (the day that Jesus ascended into Heaven) and Pentecost (when his followers received the gift of the Holy Spirit), Christians around the world are invited to join in a huge global wave of prayer.

The aim of the season is simple and deeply hope-filled: to commit to daily prayer for five people you know, asking that they might experience the life-changing love of God. It is about holding people before God with openness and trust, believing that even the quietest prayers can make a difference.

This year’s theme is ‘God with us’, inviting us to reflect on the moment when we first sensed that God was reaching out to us in love. For some this was in a moment of joy, for others through struggle, loss or uncertainty.

Christians from 85 denominations of Christianity take part in Thy Kingdom Come each year, uniting in prayer for more people to know and follow Jesus.

A wide range of resources is available for adults, house groups, churches, children and young people. These include videos, prayer station materials, prayer walk resources and guided reflections.

The Thy Kingdom Come YouTube channel will be releasing videos from 14 May, so do look out for them.  Children’s resources include songs from iSingPop, which many people will recognise from their involvement in our schools.

Whether you take part quietly at home, with others in your worshipping community, or by hosting an event, every prayer matters.
