Parental consent form

Published: Thursday January 1, 2026

As part of our work to include the voices of young people in our decision-making, and in order to use our platform to help share young people’s opinions, the Diocese of Gloucester will be launching a new TikTok account. This account will feature short videos of young people from across our diocese responding to questions about their personal faith. Read more about the project ↓

When these videos are shared on Tiktok:

  • No full names will be shared, nor individual accounts tagged
  • No locations of individuals will be shared
  • Commenting will be closely monitored and a zero tolerance approach taken to negative language or abuse
  • If any video reaches 10,000 views, it will be removed in order to protect the individual featured; we are interested in sharing faith, not causing sensation
  • Commenting may be entirely switched off
  • Parents and those featured will retain the right to have their video taken down at any time

About the project:

We recognise that faith conversations are happening in digital spaces, and we want to meet our youth where they are. This platform will serve as a creative community where young people from across the Diocese can share their personal faith stories and explore life’s “big and small” questions in a relatable, supportive environment. Our goal is to provide a safe, uplifting space that encourages them to lead the conversation and see their perspectives reflected in the wider Church.

To help get us started, we are asking youth groups to record individuals, giving 10-40 second responses to questions such as “How do you pray?” or “When do you feel closest to God?”. An initial batch of videos will also be recorded in partnership with a few youth groups, by two of the Diocesan Communications team; Sam Cavender and Natalie Sansom.

Our intention is to speak boldly about our faith journeys in various ways online, and to engage better with a platform where young people’s experiences of faith are being shared.
