31 May – Trinity Sunday, Matthew 28.16-20

Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. 18And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’

Things to think about with the child at the centre:

Hymns & Songs

  • Build Your Kingdom Here
  • This Little Light of Mine
  • Forth in Thy Name, O Lord, I Go
  • Send Me
  • My Lighthouse

Activity

“Go with Jesus” Footprints

  • Cut out paper footprints
  • On each, write or draw ways to follow Jesus (helping, sharing, praying)
  • Lay them as a path or take home

Reflection

Key points:

  • Jesus’ friends meet him after the resurrection—some are unsure
  • Jesus gives them a big job: go and make disciples
  • That doesn’t mean big speeches—it can be:
    • being kind
    • telling others about Jesus
    • living differently
  • The best part: “I am with you always”

Prayer

“Go Prayer”

Invite people to stand and use simple movements

Leader: “When we go to school or work…”
(All take a step forward)
All: “Jesus, go with us.”

Leader: “When we meet new people…”
(All wave or smile)
All: “Jesus, help us share your love.”

Leader: “When we feel unsure…”
(All place hand on heart)
All: “Jesus, stay with us.”

Finish together: “Send us out in your power. Amen.”
