We’re delighted to let you know that on Monday 1 December, the diocesan staff and teams currently based in College Green in Gloucester will be relocating to a new office space at:
Church House, 5 Denmark Road, Gloucester, GL1 3HW
(near St Catharine’s Church and the junction with London Road).
This move marks an exciting new chapter for us as we seek to further even stronger and more supportive connections between departments and across the wider diocese, as we continue to live out LIFE Together across the many different contexts of the diocese.
Gloucester Diocesan Board of Finance, Diocesan Board of Education, Diocese of Gloucester Academies Trust (DGAT), the Bishops and Archdeacons and the staff of the Bishop’s Office will all be moving into this building.
The new space has been designed to be welcoming and accessible, and a space we hope you will come to know. We’d love to invite you to visit once we’ve settled in — whether for a conversation, a meeting, or simply to say hello.
During the week commencing 24 November, we will be moving and inducting staff, installing equipment and getting everything ready. Staff will continue with their normal work, but we do appreciate your patience if we are a little slower than normal in responding. Urgent matters will still be prioritised.
When you do come to visit, there are plenty of free parking spaces on the roads around the office with 2- or 4-hour stays. We’ve produced this map of local parking information to help you identify the best places to park when you visit. We also have some spaces on site, particularly for those with blue badges. It is approximately a 15-minute walk from Gloucester bus station and the numbers 10, 94X, 95 and 882 bus routes run regularly through the day and stop near to the office.
Email and telephone numbers for staff will remain the same. If you have any questions about the move and how it might affect you, please do get in touch with ku.gr1767798110o.coi1767798110dsolg1767798110@hcr1767798110 who will direct your question to the right team member.
We hope to hold a drop in open morning in the spring so that you can pop in, have a cup of tea with staff and look around. Details will follow in the new year.
As we prepare for this transition, we would be deeply grateful for your prayers — for the practicalities of the move, for the wellbeing of our team, and for the opportunities this new space will bring to serve our communities more effectively.
This comes with our thanks and prayers for our continued partnership in the Gospel.
Bishop Rachel, Bishop Robert, Canon Benjamin Preece Smith and Canon Lucy Taylor
