The King’s School, Gloucester, with support from Diocese Youth Connectors, transformed the school chaplaincy area into a prayer space for pupils across the school to explore and engage with.
There was a wall dedicated to prayers for Ukraine, including the Ukrainian national anthem being played on repeat! There were also Easter themed activities for pupils to explore including sitting in the empty tomb and thinking about their hopes and dreams.
The space was busy every lunchtime, with some pupils returning more than once in the week.
Gloucester City Youth Connector Vicky Falvey said, “It was a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to take a moment out of their busy school day and at the end of a busy term to reflect on the true meaning of Easter and to put words to the emotions felt towards the conflict in Ukraine.
“A huge well done to the chaplaincy team for putting this together and running it throughout the week.”
