West Mercia Police and The Churches Conservation Trust are delighted to host guests from across the heritage and ecclesiastical sectors for their inaugural Heritage Crime Forum at All Saints Church on date November 8th 2019 from 09.00-15.30.
The Churches Conservation Trust cares for 353 historic places of worship in urban, semi-urban and rural settings which stand vulnerable to theft and vandalism, which ranges from removal of wall safes and smashing of windows to full scale lead theft. Working with West Mercia Police is the best way for the communities around these churches to reduce costly damage and repair and so we’re very glad to be a part of this new initiative in Worcestershire and surroundings. Our West Regional Team look forward to introducing its sites in the area and the public appeals aimed at providing better security at each of these much loved places.
With talks from Ecclesiastical Insurance, Scrap Metal Dealers Association, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, Diocese of Worcester, Historic England and Churches Conservation Trust; this forum will be a wonderful opportunity to come together with other people and organisations facing the same issues, and to talk about how to tackle them.
Parking can be found in the Copenhagen Street public car park further up Deansway (towards the Cathedral) or in the Crown Gate car park (accessed via Broad Street opposite All Saints Church). Alternatively it is a short walk from Worcester Foregate Street Station.
