There has been a review of the work of Churches Together in Gloucestershire and a change in the funding arrangements from the sponsoring denominations I regret we are no longer in a position to fund the County Ecumenical Officer post and as a consequence we have sadly had to make this post redundant.
I am sure you would want to join with me in thanking The Revd Alison Evans who has served in this post for her service to the county and our churches over these many years. She ceased to hold this role as of 19 April.
Bishop Rachel and I are keen to stress that we remain fully committed to our ecumenical partnerships – indeed we need to learn to live these in new and creative ways with a focus on enabling mission and involving more partners from churches which hitherto have not been engaged. We need new ways of working together and it is these that will be the focus of our attention going forward and I will ensure you are kept informed as these develop over the next few months.
In the meantime if you have questions regarding ecumenical matters including the renewal and review of Local Ecumenical Partnerships please contact either me directly or The Revd Canon Jacqui Hyde at ku.em1745898849.edyh1745898849nalc@1745898849nalc1745898849
