The former Bishop of Gloucester, Rt Revd Michael Perham, has expressed his thanks and gratitude to the diocese following a service of thankgiving held at Gloucester Cathedral on 13 June.
"Alison and I were hugely touched and encouraged by the very large company that came to the cathedral on 13 June to celebrate my ministry as Bishop of Gloucester, by all the joy, affection and laughter, by the very generous cheque and other gifts, as well as by the letters, cards and emails that arrived around that time both from people coming to the service and those unable to come. The Diocese of Gloucester has given us the most wonderful farewell, one we will always remember and for which we shall always be full of gratitude. Thank you. All that remains to be said is “God bless the Diocese of Gloucester and Rachel its Bishop!” And that is something we shall frequently pray in our new home in Somerset."
