How Your PCC Can Encourage Legacy Giving
Creating a culture where legacy giving is welcomed doesn’t begin with asking people for money. It begins with helping people understand that they can leave a lasting mark on the life of their church.
Create a Legacy Policy
One of the most effective ways a PCC can encourage gifts in wills is by adopting a Legacy Policy and making it available to the congregation.
People are far more likely to leave a gift when they know it will be used thoughtfully and in ways that reflect their hopes for the future of the church. A Legacy Policy gives reassurance that every gift will be received with care and used to strengthen the church’s mission for generations to come.
An example Legacy Policy template is available to help your PCC get started. [Link TBA]
Use the PCC Legacy Toolkit
The PCC Legacy Toolkit contains everything needed to begin talking confidently and sensitively about legacy giving.
Resources include guidance for PCCs, leaflets, posters, prayers, Bible reflections and materials that can be ordered free of charge for your parish.
