Resources for welcoming people to new housing developments

The ministry of welcome is at the heart of the Gospel: it is what Jesus does and teaches us to do. We need to be especially aware of this truth when new people move into the community. They come excited about a new house and new opportunities, but perhaps also nervous and apprehensive about finding their place in a new setting.

That’s why the LIFE priority group working on the priority ‘Engagement: connecting with new housing developments in innovative ways’ has prepared a pack that parishes within the Diocese of Gloucester can use to welcome people to new housing developments in their area. This is free for parishes to order, and can be adapted for your local circumstances.

If you would like to use this pack, please place an order for your blank over-printable sheets, folders and stickers from Katherine Clamp – ku.gr1728729335o.coi1728729335dsolg1728729335@pmal1728729335ck1728729335 or 01452 835591. Please can you include the name of the housing development or your parish (whichever you would prefer) so that we can send you personalised stickers for the front of the folders?

A full guide to using the pack, as well as the templates for your text can be found below. Each pack includes a cover folder, stickers with the development’s name and over-printable A5 card in the designs below.

The Housing Commission

Our Housing Commission (previously “Responding to Growth”) was a network of planners, developers, church leaders and those involved in the construction industry, meeting to discuss policies and research in new housing and to apply that knowledge in their work.
