I (Thou) Robot: God, morals and machine beings

Friday January 9, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Artificial Intelligence, robots, cyborgs… the breakneck speed of technological advancements brings a mix of fear, wonder, excitement and uncertainty. Where is it all going – and what are the implications for humanity? Where is God in all this? Is there a theological perspective?

This talk will explore the ethical and theological issues arising from AI and machine beings.

The Revd Dr Stephen Goundry-Smith will give a presentation on a Christian response. He is a scientific theologian and ethicist, an ordained CofE minister and a trained hospital pharmacist. He holds a PhD for his work on transhumanist ethics biomedical technologies.

The evening begins with refreshments, welcome, then a 1-hour presentation followed by questions and answers.  Free, but donations greatly appreciated.
