Disability Awareness Sunday: One body, many parts

Published: Tuesday September 15, 2026

Logo for Disability Awareness Sunday with Through the RoofWorshipping communities are invited to take part in Disability Awareness Sunday (DAS) on 27 September.

This year’s theme, One Body, Many Parts, is based on 1 Corinthians 12 and reminds us that every person is needed in the life of the Church. The Church is richer and more complete when disabled people are fully included.

Disability Awareness Sunday is a chance to listen, learn and celebrate the gifts disabled people bring to our worshipping communities and wider communities.

Three ways to get involved

Read this year’s resource

The 2026 resource  ‘One Body, Many Parts’ (1 Cor. 12) includes the story of Triona Brading’s as an autistic Christian, alongside reflections and materials for churches.

‘A Life Transformed’  looks at the story of a paralysed man in Luke 5, whose friends lowered him through a roof to meet Jesus. It’s the Bible passage that inspired the name of the charity Through the Roof.

Join the online service

The Church of England will be streaming a Disability Awareness Sunday service on YouTube on Sunday 20 September. It’s a simple way to explore the theme and hear stories from disabled Christians.
