SUMMARY:Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse training
DESCRIPTION:There is a requirement that the Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse Training course is completed by all clergy\, PTO\, Readers\, Bishop and Pastoral visitors\, Parish Safeguarding Officers\, PCC and lay chapter members. It is estimated that domestic abuse affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men. Therefore\, we will all know people who are victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. \nThe aim of the module is designed to equip participants to engage thoughtfully and proactively with the issue of domestic abuse and those affected. \nWe recognise that not everyone will wish to complete modules online so we are also offering some face-to-face sessions. Governor Clarity is the Diocese of Gloucester’s regular briefing and discussion session\, designed to help governors and trustees remain informed\, confident and connected. Roland Roberts will explain the latest developments affecting church-school governance\, identify what boards need to know and consider what these developments mean in practice. Alongside concise and accessible updates\, there will be opportunities to ask questions\, discuss current issues and learn from the experience of governors and trustees serving in other Church of England schools. Schools are encouraged to book at the beginning of the year and ensure that at least one governor or trustee attends each session.
