SUMMARY:Fit for Function conference
DESCRIPTION:‘Quick wins’ for working towards Net Zero Carbon \nThis annual Fit for Function conference is for anyone involved in the care of church buildings\, including PCC members\, Churchwardens and clergy. \nThe day will cover a broad spectrum of topics to inspire action; from improving biodiversity\, to gaining a recognised accreditation such as ‘Eco Church’\, to understanding small alterations or repairs to fabric\, to creating culture change. \nThe idea is to think holistically about sustainability in cases where more significant interventions such as heat pumps and solar panels may be less practicable\, and to see how churches can make further links with their local communities in pursuing NetZero. \nThere will be speakers from the National Heritage Lottery Fund\, Caring for God’s Acre\, Church of England’s Net Zero Programme\, Ecclesiastical Insurance\, EcoChurch\, and Gloucester DAC Sustainability Adviser Matt Fullford.

SUMMARY:EcoChurch Resourcing: EcoChurch drop-in with sustainable heating demo
DESCRIPTION:In this Eco-Church resourcing event\, with Matt Fulford (DAC sustainability advisor) and Cate Williams (Environmental Engagement Officer) are looking forward to you joining them to demonstrate under pew heating and answer questions about technical aspects of reducing carbon usage in church buildings. \nThis is free of charge.  45 minutes sessions run from 3:30pm – 6:30pm and it would be useful to know how many people will be attending.  To book your place please click here. \nVenue: St Andrew’s Church\, Chedworth is a net carbon zero building.  Matt will be demonstrating two different types of under-pew heating\, electric panel heaters\, heated seat cushions and overhead radiant heaters as well as being available for general conversation about sustainability and church buildings.  All forms of heating will be on for attendees to experience first-hand on what we hope might be a cold winters day! \nPlease arrive at any time and Cate will be around to chat\, but we are encouraging you to wait until your booked time to join Matt’s demonstrations. Please contact Cate if you have any questions before the session. \nWhile there is a focus in this drop-in on the ‘buildings’ heading of Eco-Church\, Cate will be around for more general conversation across the breadth of EcoChurch.  Conversation\, questions and celebrations\, across all five categories of EcoChurch will be very much welcomed. \n  \n \nThis session will be led by Cate Williams\, our Environmental Engagement Officer and Matt Fulford our DAC Sustainability Advisor.

SUMMARY:Raising awareness of domestic abuse
DESCRIPTION:There is a requirement that the Raising awareness of domestic abuse course is completed by all clergy\, PTO\, Readers\, Bishop and Pastoral visitors\, Parish Safeguarding Officers\, PCC and lay chapter members. It is estimated that domestic abuse affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men. Therefore\, we will all know people who are victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. \nThe aim of the module is designed to equip participants to engage thoughtfully and proactively with the issue of domestic abuse and those affected. \nWe recognise that not everyone will wish to complete modules online so we are also offering some face-to-face sessions. This might be a good way to ensure that people feel safe and supported when accessing the training\, particularly with this module. \nTo book a place\, please email: ku.gro.coidsolg@gniniartgnidraugefas
