SUMMARY:Faith and Finance – a financial wellbeing conference
DESCRIPTION:‘Faith and finance’ is designed to help us think more clearly\, confidently\, and faithfully about money\, in our personal lives\, our households\, and our wider communities. We want to help people grow in financial literacy not only for their own wellbeing and that of their loved ones\, but also so we can make choices that contribute to the common good; choices rooted in Christian hope\, compassion\, and wisdom. \nA wide range of practical and ethical topics will be explored with expert speakers\, including: \nPensions and planning for the future\nInvestments and ethical decision-making\nLegacy and will writing\nEthical personal banking\nTalking to children about money\nTools for everyday money management \n\n\nThis is a day for everyone\, not just treasurers or church leaders\, but for anyone who wants to understand their finances more clearly and make decisions that align with their Christian values. Whether you’re feeling confident\, worried\, curious or simply ready to learn\, you will be warmly welcomed. ‘Faith and Finance’ is a chance to explore what money means to us as part of our Christian faith and also take away some personal action points that we can implement in our own daily lives. \n\nLunch\, refreshments and some freebies will be included. \nFull booking details will be released soon\, but for now we encourage you to save the date: Saturday 20 June\, from 10am to 4pm at St Andrew’s Church\, Churchdown. \n  \nLisa- Jayne Lewis – Stewardship and Giving Advisor \nLisa-Jayne helps church leaders to think about how they can preach and teach about money\, how churches can find ways to increase their income\, find grants and think about regular giving and  financial stewardship as part of our Christian discipleship.

SUMMARY:Bi-monthly networking breakfasts at Brimscombe Mill
DESCRIPTION:Following the last two 10:10 Circles\, there are now a growing number of alumni who are keen to continue meeting\, networking and learning from one another. There are some new partners and friends who are doing new and exciting things in their communities\, and we would love to provide the opportunity for people with a vision and passion for doing things differently to join us for coffee\, cookies and the opportunity to connect with others who share the vision. \nThe breakfasts will be held at The Grace Network site at Brimscombe Mill\, and will be facilitated by Will Mansell (Grace Network) and Catherine Pearson (external consultant). Diocesan staff will also attend these informal sessions. \nAll are welcome to come along – just turn up on the day and introduce yourself. The gatherings will start at 9.30am and will be finished by 11.30am. We plan to have bi-monthly meetings – Fridays are good days for Brimscombe Mill\, although we are aware that many people take their day off on a Friday\, so we will be reviewing the dates as we move into 2027. Dates that are in the diary so far are: \n\n22 May\n10 July\n18 September\n13 November\n22 January\n\nWe look forward to meeting you there!

SUMMARY:Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse training
DESCRIPTION:There is a requirement that the Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse Training course is completed by all clergy\, PTO\, Readers\, Bishop and Pastoral visitors\, Parish Safeguarding Officers\, PCC and lay chapter members. It is estimated that domestic abuse affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men. Therefore\, we will all know people who are victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. \nThe aim of the module is designed to equip participants to engage thoughtfully and proactively with the issue of domestic abuse and those affected. \nWe recognise that not everyone will wish to complete modules online so we are also offering some face-to-face sessions. This might be a good way to ensure that people feel safe and supported when accessing the training\, particularly with this module. \nThis course will be run at Abbey Garden Cafe\, Tewkesbury Abbey Visitors Centre\, Church Street\, Tewkesbury \nTo book a place\, please email: ku.gro.coidsolg@gniniartgnidraugefas \n

SUMMARY:MHFA Youth Training - Day 1 of 2
DESCRIPTION:Youth · MHFA England \nMHFA Youth Mental Health First Aid courses are for anyone who lives with\, works with\, or supports young people aged 8 to 18. \nWe train the adults in a young person’s life to have the skills and confidence to identify poor mental health and provide first-level support where it’s needed. In doing so\, they can speed up a young person’s recovery\, prevent their mental health from deteriorating\, and ultimately save lives. \nWhat’s more\, by giving learners the tools to look after their own mental health\, we can set a positive example for young people. We need to show that mental health should be treated equally to physical health\, and that it’s okay to talk about it and to ask for help. \nThis course will be over 2 days and you do need  to attend both days – Saturday 3rd & Saturday 10th October from 9.00am – 5.00pm. \nVenue – TBC \nCost – you need to cover the cost of the MHFA Workbook approx £32 \nTo book a place please email ku.gro.coidsolg@gniniartgnidraugefas
