SUMMARY:EcoChurch Resourcing: Coffee Shop Gathering
DESCRIPTION:EcoChurch Resourcing events are currently focussed on informal gatherings in coffee shops\, in various locations across the Diocese.  They are opportunities to bring questions\, to share joys and frustrations\, and to find out what others are doing nearby.  Often conversations develop about what could be done by working together.  Ecumenical partners are welcome to join the conversation – we have close links with other churches through GCEJN so it seems appropriate to do this together. \nPop in for as long as you are able to join the conversation with Cate Williams (our Environmental Engagement Officer). If you need to come late or leave early\, that is absolutely fine.  We look forward to dreaming together about what could be possible in our churches and communities. \n \nNew dates will be advertised\, as they are set.  The idea is to find a date with a few people in each place and then open it up to anyone who’d like to join the conversation.  Cate welcomes invitations from any location across the Diocese. \nNext date is 12 November 2024 / 10.30am at The Ark Café\, Newent. \nThere is no need to book but if you have time please register your interest

SUMMARY:EcoChurch Resourcing: EcoChurch drop-in with sustainable heating demo
DESCRIPTION:In this Eco-Church resourcing event\, with Matt Fulford (DAC sustainability advisor) and Cate Williams (Environmental Engagement Officer) are looking forward to you joining them to demonstrate different solutions they have used to achieve net zero and answer questions about technical aspects of reducing carbon usage in church buildings. \nThis is free of charge.  45 minutes sessions run from 3:30pm – 6:30pm and it would be useful to know how many people will be attending.  To book your place please click here. \nVenue: Holy Trinity\, Stroud is a carbon net zero building. Matt\, along with members of the local church project team\, will demonstrate the different solutions they have used in order to achieve this. In this building\, which is a 600 seater grade II listed building\, an old gas boiler has been replaced with a mix of under pew heating and a halo infrared heater\, both reducing carbon footprint and reducing the weekly bills by £100 to just £22. We hope that it will be a cold enough day to demonstrate how effective low carbon heating can be when designed well to fit the building. We will also be available for general conversation about sustainability and church buildings \nPlease arrive at any time and Cate will be around to chat\, but we are encouraging you to wait until your booked time to join Matt’s demonstrations. Please contact Cate if you have any questions before the session. \nWhile there is a focus in this drop-in on the ‘buildings’ heading of Eco-Church\, Cate will be around for more general conversation across the breadth of EcoChurch.  Conversation\, questions and celebrations\, across all five categories of EcoChurch will be very much welcomed. \n  \n \nThis session will be led by Cate Williams\, our Environmental Engagement Officer and Matt Fulford our DAC Sustainability Advisor.
