SUMMARY:Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse training - delivered in Persian
DESCRIPTION:This course will be delivered in Persian \nThere is a requirement that the Raising awareness of domestic abuse course is completed by all clergy\, PTO\, Readers\, Bishop and Pastoral visitors\, Parish Safeguarding Officers\, all those who have a role with children\, young people and vulnerable adults and lay chapter members. It is estimated that domestic abuse affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men. Therefore\, we will all know people who are victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. \nThe aim of the module is designed to equip participants to engage thoughtfully and proactively with the issue of domestic abuse and those affected. \nWe recognise that not everyone will wish to complete modules online so we are also offering some face-to-face sessions. This might be a good way to ensure that people feel safe and supported when accessing the training\, particularly with this module. \nTo book a place please email ku.gro.coidsolg@gniniartgnidraugefas

SUMMARY:Thy Kingdom Come: celebrate\, worship and pray together for our city
DESCRIPTION:Gloucester Cathedral\, in partnership with the Christian Leaders’ Network\, invites you to celebrate\, worship and pray together for Gloucester. \nThey are calling Christians across the city from all backgrounds and traditions to come to celebrate and pray together. \nWalk from your church (if not too far) or a Gloucester church you feel connected to\, and pray for Gloucester as you come. \nCome early for a families and children workshop from 10.30am\, to make your own Thy Kingdom Come prayer pennants and banners. \nHot and cold drinks will be available for all from 10.30 (come later and you may miss them!) \n11.30am: Worship and prayer \n12.30pm: Short Eucharist if you’d like to join in. \nThere will be a picnic (BYO) – plus an ice cream van. \nTo keep updated\, visit here. \nA message from Dean Andrew: \n“Dear Friends in Christ\, \n“In the days between Ascension Day and Pentecost\, we are powerfully reminded of the fire of God’s love that is poured into our hearts to fulfil the special calling that he has given to each and every one of us. With this in mind\, we are delighted to invite Christian communities from across the city of Gloucester to join in a prayer walk from your churches to the Cathedral for worship and prayer together at 11.30am. We hope that this shared time of prayer together will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and give thanks for the prayer-walking initiative which was launched during this year’s Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and\, in preparation for the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost\, to pray for our city and to discern where God may be calling us to make His Kingdom come. \n“I very much hope that you will be able to join in this act of witness and to pray for the coming of the Spirit upon all in our city. \n“With grateful thanks and prayers for our partnership in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

SUMMARY:Christian Aid webinar on global justice
DESCRIPTION:Sign up now for the next Christian Aid webinars on global justice. \nChristian Aid is calling for change to the unequal global debt system which robs millions of families of the chance of a better life. \nThe charity was one of the founding members of the Jubilee 2000 international movement which won $130bn of debt cancellation owed by 35 of the poorest countries. \nChristian Aid and its supporters are now urging the UK Government to tackle the twin issues of global debt and the climate crisis which are still trapping millions of people in poverty. \nA series of workshops and webinars have been organised to give people more information on the issues and on how they can join the movement. \nThe next is on Wednesday\, June 4\, from 7pm to 8.30pm. \nPeople are invited to join the panel debate with guest Precious Kalombwana\, a Zambian debt activist\, to explore the connections between the climate and debt crises. \nFollowing this one\, the July webinar will be a reflective session looking at the role of Restoration in the Christian faith and in the Christian Aid campaign. \nJennifer Larbie\, the charity’s Head of UK Advocacy and Campaigns\, explained restoration is a recurring theme in the Bible\, symbolising God’s promise to rebuild\, renew\, and redeem. \nShe said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming our special guests to explore this theme and its application in our daily lives.” \nTo register for the online sessions\, please visit the Restore Campaign Workshop and Webinar Series – Christian Aid. \n

However\, if you’re part of RI’s Reconciling Mission Network (current or past participants on Reconciling Mission programme) you’re eligible for a £10 discount.\n£45 for those in part- or full-time theological education with a denominationally recognised college.\n\nDiscounts:A group of five will be able to cover all the bases and could then gather to share learning and insights with one another after the event – and potentially then share more widely within the diocese.\nA group discount is available to organisations booking for at least 5 participants. There is a further discount for groups of 10 or more (please ask for details). \nTickets are available here. \nFor more information download the conference brochure here and check out the webpage\, here\, which includes more on all our speakers. \nAny questions\, contact Becky Gaskin.

Speakers include: Carlton Turner\, Catherine Okoronkwo\, Charlotte Gale\, David Brubaker\, Gale Richards\, Harvey Kwiyani\, John Witcombe\, Peniel Rajkumar\, Robert Beckford\, Rosy Fairhurst\, Ruth Harley\, Sharon Prentis\, Victoria Turner and Executive Director of Reconciliation today\, Alistair McKay. Further details on all of these speakers can be found here.\nCoventry Cathedral: Opportunities to explore this iconic cathedral\, with its long history of involvement in reconciliation ministries\, in diverse ways.\n\nDiscounted tickets \nThe conference will have four different streams running through the course of the day. Participants will therefore need to choose between the offerings. \nThe conference is offering a discount for a group of 5 or more from the same diocese\, when tickets are bought as a group. SUMMARY:Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse Training
DESCRIPTION:There is a requirement that the Raising awareness of domestic abuse course is completed by all clergy\, PTO\, Readers\, Bishop and Pastoral visitors\, Parish Safeguarding Officers\, all those who have a role with children\, young people and vulnerable adults and lay chapter members. \nVenue: St Catharine’s\, London Road\, Gloucester \nTo book a place\, please email: ku.gro.coidsolg@gniniartgnidraugefas
