SUMMARY:Bi-monthly networking breakfasts at Brimscombe Mill
DESCRIPTION:Following the last two 10:10 Circles\, there are now a growing number of alumni who are keen to continue meeting\, networking and learning from one another. There are some new partners and friends who are doing new and exciting things in their communities\, and we would love to provide the opportunity for people with a vision and passion for doing things differently to join us for coffee\, cookies and the opportunity to connect with others who share the vision. \nThe breakfasts will be held at The Grace Network site at Brimscombe Mill\, and will be facilitated by Will Mansell (Grace Network) and Catherine Pearson (external consultant). Diocesan staff will also attend these informal sessions. \nAll are welcome to come along – just turn up on the day and introduce yourself. The gatherings will start at 9.30am and will be finished by 11.30am. We plan to have bi-monthly meetings – Fridays are good days for Brimscombe Mill\, although we are aware that many people take their day off on a Friday\, so we will be reviewing the dates as we move into 2027. Dates that are in the diary so far are: \n\n22 May\n10 July\n18 September\n13 November\n22 January\n\nWe look forward to meeting you there!

SUMMARY:Gateway Theology School: The Rest of Life
DESCRIPTION:The Revd Tudor Griffiths\nWe all face the prospect of retirement. But do we look forward to it with anticipation\, uncertainty\, or dread? \nWhat does retirement even mean? As a modern concept associated with employment and career\, can there really be a ‘theology of retirement’? Does the Bible have anything to say about God’s purpose and plan for this latter phase of life? \nTudor Griffiths will explore the Biblical idea of rest (alongside retirement) as the ‘Sabbath of life’\, connecting questions of identity\, hope\, purpose – and finding wisdom in unique sources\, from Ecclesiastes to William Cowper. \nThe Revd Dr Tudor Griffiths was born and raised in South Wales\, Tudor’s career in ordained ministry and mission spanned several countries – Wales\, Uganda\, and here in Cheltenham and Gloucester – before ‘retirement’\, only to become the mayor of Chepstow! As a retired clergy\, author\, historian\, and theologian with a doctorate in mission history\, Tudor is perfectly placed to provide a biblical perspective on this consequential topic. \nThis talk is on Friday 10 July\, from 7pm to 9pm\, at Hillview Church\, Hucclecote\, 26 Colwell Ave\, GL3 3LX. \nCost by donation. \nRegister in advance by emailing info@gtstheology.org. \nFor more information →

SUMMARY:Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse training
DESCRIPTION:There is a requirement that the Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse Training course is completed by all clergy\, PTO\, Readers\, Bishop and Pastoral visitors\, Parish Safeguarding Officers\, PCC and lay chapter members. It is estimated that domestic abuse affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men. Therefore\, we will all know people who are victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. \nThe aim of the module is designed to equip participants to engage thoughtfully and proactively with the issue of domestic abuse and those affected. \nWe recognise that not everyone will wish to complete modules online so we are also offering some face-to-face sessions. This might be a good way to ensure that people feel safe and supported when accessing the training\, particularly with this module. \nThis course will be run at Abbey Garden Cafe\, Tewkesbury Abbey Visitors Centre\, Church Street\, Tewkesbury \nTo book a place\, please email: ku.gro.coidsolg@gniniartgnidraugefas \n
