SUMMARY:Windows of the Temple and Jewels of the New Jerusalem: a talk by Dr Chloë Reddaway
DESCRIPTION:No art form is more closely associated in the cultural imagination with Christian buildings than that of stained-glass windows\, but why do we have them? \nThis illustrated talk from Dr Chloë Reddaway explains their relationship to both the Temple of Solomon and the vision of the Heavenly Jerusalem\, and explores what theologians have had to say\, not just about the pictures on the glass\, but the medium of glass itself. Come and be illuminated. \nChloë lectures widely and has taught for Westcott House\, Sarum College and Westminster College\, Cambridge. She is a founding co-editor of the Brepols series\, Arts and the Sacred and a member of the editorial board of Art + Christianity. \nFree entry; refreshments afterwards; donations for windows fund welcome.

SUMMARY:Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse training
DESCRIPTION:There is a requirement that the Responding Well to Domestic Abuse Training course is completed by all clergy\, PTO\, Readers\, Bishop and Pastoral visitors\, Parish Safeguarding Officers\, PCC and lay chapter members. It is estimated that domestic abuse affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men. Therefore\, we will all know people who are victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. \nThe aim of the module is designed to equip participants to engage thoughtfully and proactively with the issue of domestic abuse and those affected. \nWe recognise that not everyone will wish to complete modules online so we are also offering some face-to-face sessions. This might be a good way to ensure that people feel safe and supported when accessing the training\, particularly with this module. \nThis course will be run at Porch Rooms\, Minchinhampton Church \nTo book a place\, please email: ku.gro.coidsolg@gniniartgnidraugefas
