What is of greater concern is those of which we are unconscious. \nThis training\, which is part of our safer recruiting programme\, is open to anyone who wants to become more aware of their thinking. DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training programme. SUMMARY:Raising awareness of domestic abuse
DESCRIPTION:There is a requirement that the Raising awareness of domestic abuse course is completed by all clergy\, PTO\, Readers\, Bishop and Pastoral visitors\, Parish Safeguarding Officers\, PCC and lay chapter members. It is estimated that domestic abuse affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men. Therefore\, we will all know people who are victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. \nThe aim of the module is designed to equip participants to engage thoughtfully and proactively with the issue of domestic abuse and those affected. \nWe recognise that not everyone will wish to complete modules online so we are also offering some face-to-face sessions. SUMMARY:Raising awareness of domestic abuse
DESCRIPTION:There is a requirement that the Raising awareness of domestic abuse course is completed by all clergy\, PTO\, Readers\, Bishop and Pastoral visitors\, Parish Safeguarding Officers\, PCC and lay chapter members. It is estimated that domestic abuse affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men. Therefore\, we will all know people who are victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. \nThe aim of the module is designed to equip participants to engage thoughtfully and proactively with the issue of domestic abuse and those affected. \nWe recognise that not everyone will wish to complete modules online so we are also offering some face-to-face sessions. SUMMARY:Unconscious Bias Training
DESCRIPTION:We all have opinions\, are aware of it and make allowances. What is of greater concern is those of which we are unconscious. \nThis training\, which is part of our safer recruiting programme\, is open to anyone who wants to become more aware of their thinking. In two and a half hours we will: \n\nProvide an overview of the concept of unconscious bias and it’s impact;\nHighlight the differences between and importance of the concepts of diversity and inclusion;\nOffer tools and techniques to manage and reduce bias;\nAllow space to action plan for change.\n\nFuture Dates \n26 September 2024 6pm – 8:30pm\n22 October 2024 10am – 12:30pm \nIt is also possible for this course to be offered locally – in parish\, benefice or deanery setting.  \nFor more information or to discuss running a course in parish\, benefice or deanery setting please contact Pauline Godfrey on pgodfrey@glosdioc.org.uk \nTo book your place please click here.
