SUMMARY:Christian Aid webinar on global justice
DESCRIPTION:Sign up now for the next Christian Aid webinars on global justice. \nChristian Aid is calling for change to the unequal global debt system which robs millions of families of the chance of a better life. \nThe charity was one of the founding members of the Jubilee 2000 international movement which won $130bn of debt cancellation owed by 35 of the poorest countries. \nChristian Aid and its supporters are now urging the UK Government to tackle the twin issues of global debt and the climate crisis which are still trapping millions of people in poverty. \nA series of workshops and webinars have been organised to give people more information on the issues and on how they can join the movement. \nThe next is on Wednesday\, June 4\, from 7pm to 8.30pm. \nPeople are invited to join the panel debate with guest Precious Kalombwana\, a Zambian debt activist\, to explore the connections between the climate and debt crises. \nFollowing this one\, the July webinar will be a reflective session looking at the role of Restoration in the Christian faith and in the Christian Aid campaign. \nJennifer Larbie\, the charity’s Head of UK Advocacy and Campaigns\, explained restoration is a recurring theme in the Bible\, symbolising God’s promise to rebuild\, renew\, and redeem. \nShe said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming our special guests to explore this theme and its application in our daily lives.” \nTo register for the online sessions\, please visit the Restore Campaign Workshop and Webinar Series – Christian Aid. \n
