SUMMARY:Children's Ministry Essentials
DESCRIPTION:The CMN Children’s Ministry Essentials Course is a new and exciting resource for children’s ministry. It is aimed at anyone who is volunteering with children in the church or community\, and particularly those who wish to grow in confidence\, knowledge and ability. It is packed full of useful information to equip and strengthen anyone ministering to children in churches and community projects. The course is made up of ten 1h30min sessions with films and lots of great content. \nClick here to register your interest. \nIt is based upon the three key principles of: \nKnowing the child \nGrowing and developing children’s ministry \nLeader development  \nThe ten modules include topics such as: the world of the child\, leadership and teamwork\, the role of play in faith formation\, and inclusion. \nThe course is delivered by the Children’s Ministry Network (CMN)\, who have collaborated as part of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI)\, to develop excellent content that will prove valuable to anyone working in ministry with children. \nThis event will be led by Helen Champion. \nHelen Champion – Gloucester City Youth Connector \nHelen is the Youth Connector for Gloucester city\, working in the Deanery and wider Diocese to enable young people to experience ‘life in all its fullness.’ \n

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to a learning session on Preaching the Lectionary for 2025/26\, exploring the Gospel of Mark\, on Wednesday 11th November from 6.30pm to 9.30pm\, or on 30 Thursday 12th November from 9.30am to 12.30pm at The Church Centre\, Station Road\, Andoversford\, Cheltenham GL5 4LA. \nOur speaker will be Dr Anna Hutchinson\, Lecturer and Tutor in Theology at St Mellitus South West. \nThis learning is a chance to refresh yourself with the themes of the Gospel of Mark\, and a chance to reflect on how you could explore this Gospel in your preaching in the new lectionary year. \nTo book a place on one of these sessions\, please register here. Please note that the same material will be covered in both sessions\, so you only need to attend one. \n  \nDr Anna Hutchinson is a Lecturer and Tutor in Theology at St Mellitus South West\, and has a PhD in Theology from the University of Birmingham\, where she researched the hermeneutics of Evangelical Christians\, with a particular focus on the role of the Doctrine of Scripture in interpretation\, and theological education. She says of her learning\, “Studying theology as an undergrad was a huge turning point for me. I suddenly had so many questions about faith\, but God in his grace brought me through those to a deeper and stronger relationship with Him\, as well as to a love for theology which has shaped the whole direction of my life…. Each time\, God gives me a different or fresher insight into His Word and this enables me to keep persevering. Meeting other believers\, reading God’s word together\, and praying with each other are some of the ways that I try to keep my eyes fixed on the author and perfector of our faith.” \n

DESCRIPTION:X:site (The place of the Cross) is a children’s event supported and run by local churches in partnership with Scripture Union.
