DESCRIPTION:Branch is a monthly worship for secondary school-aged people\, meeting at the Forest Community Church (2 Parragate Road\, Cinderford GL14 2LY). \nWorship God\, go deeper into his word and connect with others. \n15 leaders from 8 churches work together to organise worship\, with local speakers from different denominations. \nAll young people are very welcome. DESCRIPTION:The Children\, Families and Youth Connect Team are hosting regular drop in sessions to chat over a coffee and chew over what’s going on in your ministry. No topic or questions about Children\, Families and Youth Ministry are off bounds so please bring any questions you might have for the team. \nThis session will be on 12 September 2024 10am-12pm at Sam and Jak Cirencester. \nThere is no need to book your place to attend these sessions. DESCRIPTION:For anyone involved with Children\, Youth and Families ministry in the Diocese of Gloucester. \nMore than an ideas factory\, the ‘Introduction to Christian Ministry’ course is an opportunity to go deeper into your faith\, learn more about the bible and ministry in a local learning community with the option to work towards a qualification. \nTerm time only. She served as Worcester Diocesan Youth Officer where she advised all the churches on their engagement with young people as well as supporting educational chaplaincy in secondary\, further and higher education and supporting the Church of England Youth Council as chaplain. Sarah was on General Synod from 2015 to 2017 and has previously been on the National Board of Education.  She has been a school governor at three different CE Primary Schools\, including serving as both chair of governors and Safeguarding Governor. She was the chair of the trustees of Worcestershire YMCA and currently serves as Chair of the British and Irish Association for Practical Theology and as a trustee of the St Christopher’s Education Trust. \n

SUMMARY:Pastoral Assistants Course - Chipping Sodbury
DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to be a Christian in the 21st Century?\nThe next diocesan Pastoral Assistants Course starts on 14 September 2024 in Chipping Sodbury. Using an interactive workshop style the course covers a breadth of subjects aiming to equip people to be able to work in all manner of pastoral situations. \nPastoral assistants have a heart for others\, reflecting the care that God has for us to other people; sharing their joys and sorrows. Pastoral Assistants need to be able to relate with sensitivity to people at various stages in life\, those with varying degrees of Christian commitment  and with those who are searching. \nOnce trained\, Pastoral Assistants are commissioned and minister in their local parish or benefice. DESCRIPTION:We all have opinions\, are aware of it and make allowances. What is of greater concern is those of which we are unconscious. \nThis training\, which is part of our safer recruiting programme\, is open to anyone who wants to become more aware of their thinking.
