DESCRIPTION:16-18 October 2026\nHosted by St James Church\, Bream \nSt James Church\, Bream is delighted to invite you to RENEW 2026\, a special weekend of worship\, teaching\, fellowship and encouragement. \nFor several years\, RENEW has been an important part of the life of St James Church\, bringing together people from across the area who are seeking to deepen their faith through extended times of worship\, inspiring teaching\, meaningful conversation\, and shared meals. Whether you are part of St James or joining them from elsewhere\, they would love to welcome you. \nThe weekend begins on the evening of Friday 16 October with worship and teaching. Saturday includes two further teaching sessions\, workshops\,  and a lunch together\, concluding the day at 3.30pm. The event concludes on Sunday morning with a celebration service followed by lunch. \nTheme: Courageous \nThis year’s theme is Courageous\, and St James Church is delighted to welcome Paul Langham\, Chair of New Wine\, as guest speaker. \nPaul retired after almost 40 years in local church leadership in 2025 and was recently appointed Chair of the New Wine Board. He is the author of Understanding Revelation and Who?\, a fresh translation of the New Testament published by Bible Society. Paul is married to Jackie\, and together they enjoy life as grandparents to their four grown-up children. Outside ministry\, he enjoys walking\, tennis and photography\, and still hopes to see Arsenal win the Champions League one day. \nWorship throughout the weekend will be led by Stu and Nat Dix\, who will be familiar to many through their ministry at St James Church\, including the church’s monthly LIFT worship gatherings and previous RENEW weekends. \nBooking information \nThe event is free\, although donations towards running costs are greatly appreciated. \nFurther details\, including session times\, will be available nearer the date. SUMMARY:Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse training
DESCRIPTION:There is a requirement that the Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse Training course is completed by all clergy\, PTO\, Readers\, Bishop and Pastoral visitors\, Parish Safeguarding Officers\, PCC and lay chapter members. It is estimated that domestic abuse affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men. Therefore\, we will all know people who are victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. \nThe aim of the module is designed to equip participants to engage thoughtfully and proactively with the issue of domestic abuse and those affected. \nWe recognise that not everyone will wish to complete modules online so we are also offering some face-to-face sessions. SUMMARY:Bayeux tapestry exhibition at Tewkesbury Abbey
DESCRIPTION:Tewkesbury Abbey is set to bring one of history’s greatest stories to life this autumn with From Conquest to Kingdom – The Bayeux Tapestry and Norman Heritage Trail\, opening on 22 October 2026. \nSet within one of Britain’s finest Norman buildings\, the exhibition invites visitors to experience the story of 1066 inside the very world it created. It features a full-scale printed reproduction of the Bayeux Tapestry\, immersed in Tewkesbury Abbey’s own Norman heritage. \nThe exhibition is presented in partnership with the British Museum\, as part of Bayeux Around Britain\, supported by WorldQuant. \nThe Bayeux Tapestry tells the story of the Norman Conquest. At Tewkesbury Abbey\, visitors can step inside the world it created and explore more than 80 years of history through kings and queens\, faith and power\, architecture\, craftsmanship and everyday life. \nMoving beyond the famous scenes of the Battle of Hastings\, From Conquest to Kingdom explores how the Norman Conquest transformed England and how the new kingdom developed between 1066 and 1154. Visitors will encounter the stories of remarkable individuals who shaped both England and Tewkesbury Abbey\, including Queen Matilda\, Robert Fitzhamon and Robert FitzRoy. \nThe exhibition is divided into two connected chapters. Conquest explores the Battle of Hastings\, William the Conqueror’s victory and the dramatic birth of Norman England through the full-scale reproduction of the tapestry. \nKingdom then looks beyond the battlefield to reveal how the Norman Conquest reshaped everyday life. New rulers\, ideas and architecture transformed England’s landscape\, while faith\, monastic traditions\, craftsmanship\, fashion and music helped create a vibrant new society. \nFor the people of South West England and beyond\, Tewkesbury Abbey provides a remarkable regional perspective on this national story\, perfect for those unable to visit the London exhibition. Founded within decades of the Conquest\, the Abbey’s soaring Norman architecture bears witness to the ambition\, faith and craftsmanship of the period. The Norman Heritage Trail allows visitors to discover the people\, places and ideas that shaped the medieval world around them. \nThe result is an exhibition in which the setting is as important as the story itself. Standing beneath Europe’s largest Romanesque tower\, visitors encounter Tewkesbury Abbey not simply as the home of the exhibition\, but as one of its greatest exhibits. \nThe exhibition is free\, entrance to the Abbey is by voluntary donation.

DESCRIPTION:Christchurch Spaces exists to help young people age 14 to 18 years of age explore the Christian faith\, encounter Jesus and put their faith into action. DESCRIPTION:The CMN Children’s Ministry Essentials Course is a new and exciting resource for children’s ministry. It is aimed at anyone who is volunteering with children in the church or community\, and particularly those who wish to grow in confidence\, knowledge and ability. It is packed full of useful information to equip and strengthen anyone ministering to children in churches and community projects.
