Youthscape Essentials
An innovative course for volunteers that increases your skills and understanding about working alongside young people today. Whether you’re running a community project, a church youth group, or occasionally helping out on a Sunday morning, the course is designed with you in mind!
It’s not about the numbers of young people attending, it’s about putting God at the centre of your youth ministry.
This 10 week course will be held at St Catharine’s Church, Gloucester fortnightly on Tuesday evening from 7 May 7-9pm.
Sessions will include:
7th May – Why Youth Ministry / Building rapport with young people
21st May – Adolescent Development / Engaging young people with the Bible
4th June – Growing Up Digital / Safeguarding and safety (NB this does not replace statutory SafeGuarding training)
18th June – Growing Up Gen Z / Empowering young people to participate
2nd July – Family Life / Working with others as a team
16th July – Christian Discipleship / Facilitating a session with young people
Summer Break
10th September – Gender & Sexuality / Accommodating young people’s different needs
24th September – School Life / Managing behaviour
8th October – Emotional & Physical Health / Telling stories that capture interest
22nd October – Mission & Exploring Faith / Knowing you’re making a difference
The course is FREE, but we’d recommend purchasing the accompanying handbook – discount through us at £11.50 each.
