Ride and Stride 2026

Ride+Stride returns to Gloucestershire this September.

Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust (GHCT) is pleased to announce that this year’s Ride+Stride event will take place on Saturday 12 September.

The annual event invites participants to walk, cycle or even horse ride between churches across the county, raising money to support the repair, maintenance and improvement of these special buildings and helping to ensure they can continue to serve their communities for years to come.

Some participants take on ambitious challenges, aiming to visit as many churches as possible in a single day, while others take a more relaxed approach, enjoying the route and the activities hosted by churches along the way. In previous years, visitors have been welcomed with bake sales, tower tours, car boot sales, organ recitals, concerts and more.

Last year’s event raised more than £37,000, which has since been distributed to local churches to support a wide variety of projects, including essential roof repairs and improvements to make buildings more accessible. Participants can choose which church they would like 50% of the money they raise to support, making Ride+Stride an important fundraising opportunity for churches across Gloucestershire.
