The Big Mission Weekend with the Archbishop of Canterbury
Cathedral service and be part of our scratch choir
As you hopefully know, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Justin Welby, will be coming to the Diocese of Gloucester over the May Bank Holiday, Friday 24 to Sunday 26 May, to join in with our mission and vision.
Cathedral service
The weekend ends with a celebration diocesan Eucharist service at Gloucester Cathedral at 3pm. During the service we will thank God for all the projects and places Archbishop Justin has seen and the people he has met, sing and worship, and look forward to the next season of mission and evangelism in the Diocese of Gloucester. There will be a multi-sensory play area for children and people of all ages are invited to join in with this joyful service of celebration and thankfulness.
Scratch choir
We are looking for singers of all ages and experience, from across our diocese to be part of a scratch choir. It’s a very special one-off opportunity to be part of a Diocese of Gloucester choir. You must be able to attend a rehearsal on Sunday 26 May at 1pm.
We are also encouraging people to bring a picnic to have either before or after the service in the grounds of the Cathedral.
It would be very helpful to have expressions of interest in attending the service and in being part of the choir. We would be grateful if you could fill in the simple forms below to say how many people you know will be coming from your worshipping community and to register to be part of the choir.

I signed up for the scratch choir last week. Submitted the form and have not heard back from yourselves. A few other members of my choir have not had a reply after submitting the form either. No confirmation email or any information on what we are actually singing. When will we receive such information? Or do I take it we just turn up on the day and have the music given out?
