A message from Bishop Rachel, Bishop Robert and Benjamin Preece-Smith
We are pleased to share the news that plans are underway to relocate the diocesan offices, in a bid to reduce long-term expenditure, provide a more suitable and accessible working environment and provide a better welcome to all from across our diocese.
An offer has been accepted on Hillfield House, Denmark Road in Gloucester, a building that was formerly used as diocesan offices in the 1920s.
The property will be owned outright by the Gloucester Diocesan Board of Finance (GDBF) and will allow our diocesan teams including the Bishops, Archdeacons, GDBF, Diocesan Board of Education (DBE) and Diocese of Gloucester Academies Trust (DGAT) to work together under one roof.
We estimate the cost savings of owning our office building, complete with staff and visitor parking, to be £45,000 per year.
There will be accessible parking, toilets, meeting rooms, office space and kitchen space on the ground floor, improving our ability to welcome visitors.
Please see below an FAQ which we hope includes all the information you need for now.
We will share regular updates on the progression of the move in the Bulletin and also the Clergy and Readers’ WhatsApp. If you would like to discuss the situation further, please do contact Lucy Taylor, Deputy Diocesan Secretary on ku.gr1726388164o.coi1726388164dsolg1726388164@roly1726388164atl1726388164
