TRAC, Sportily’s annual five-day summer residential, is back and the team says it will be better than ever. With more children booked on than ever before, they are sure it’s going to be one to remember.
TRAC is the Tom Roberts Adventure Centre in Newent. The week is set to include raft building, pedalo boats, archery, zip lining, sport, drama, art, wide games, fitness fun and even a ‘house band’.
Sportily caught up with a few young people that have attended previously to find out what they love most.
Beth has been coming to TRAC for seven years and is now a leader. She shares: “I really love playing capture the flag out in the woods ‘cus there are lots of us running around like headless chickens trying to get the flag from each other.”
Lydia adds, “My favourite part is the evening challenges with the leaders. We do lots of fun ones.”
The epic 5-day Sportily camp is for those in school years 7 to 13 (those entering Year 7 in September 2023).
Sportily is part of the LIFE Together vision in the Diocese of Gloucester and was commissioned by Bishop Rachel with a vision for transforming the Church’s engagement with children, young people and their families through excellent local sport and spiritual well-being provision.
It is a place to try different sports, make new friends and explore what life is all about, and believe that being more active, like the Christian faith, can change your life forever.
Cassie says, “I highly recommend TRAC, it’s very enjoyable and we hope to see lots of you there.”
The camp is held from Monday 7 to Friday 11 August and costs £140 per child. All activities, meals, accommodation (tents and cabins) and fun are provided for the full five days.
