All are invited to join Nathan and the Sportily team at the free family day out, full of sports, games, Easter egg hunts, food and fun – plus a visit from Bishop Rachel.

Sportily is a network of fun-loving sport and Christian faith groups located across Gloucestershire, running clubs in schools, community facilities and open spaces. Sportily’s north Gloucester team has been working with children and young people in local schools and communities since 2021.

Nathan Youlton, Sport and Faith Leader, says, “We wanted to organise a really fun-packed day to celebrate the work that is going on locally to support people ‘playing sports, talking life’ in north Gloucester.”

The day starts off at 11am at Twigworth Green, where children and families can take part in ‘driveway sports’ in the new housing development.

Nathan says, “We’ve arranged lots of different games that families can have a go at on people’s driveways. It’s a great way to use the space and build community connections.”

At 12.30pm, the activities move to Innsworth Junior School for some unique and unusual sports, with a selection of free hot cross buns provided by local churches for a tasty energy boost. Then, at 2.30pm, the Sportily team moves to Longford Skate Park.

Nathan says, “Here, we’ve organised an Easter egg hunt, and families can shoot some basketball hoops and join in with a game of rounders. It’s going to be lots of fun!”

Bishop Rachel will also be at the Skate Park to cheer everyone on and hear all about the work of Sportily in the area.

Nathan adds, “The events are all free and you can drop in to any sessions to suit you. We really would love lots of people to come and join in with what’s going on and have some fun with us.”

Sportily operates across Gloucestershire in partnership with the Diocese of Gloucester, schools, churches and other organisations.
